Hello and Welcome to my site :)
I have relocated to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island from North Vancouver. The Island has long been a very special place for me, and I’m thrilled to now be a local.
I hold a masters in counselling psychology and I engage in ongoing training. With the support of ongoing clinical supervision and by engaging in my own individual and couples counselling when needed, I hope to relay my commitment to this work, my integrity to it all. It’s my perspective that growth and connection to one’s self and to others are of utmost importance in the work we do. Emotional suppression results alternatively in the amplification of those very emotions. By speaking our truths we can feel set free from undesired feelings, thoughts and behaviours. We can reclaim our whole selves for a newfound sense of freedom from past narratives and physical symptoms.
I’m passionate about psychology, philosophy and counselling and it is truly an honour to sit and talk, feel and explore with clients. Yoga, Mindfulness, and time in Nature ground my practice. I love gardening, hiking, cycling, snowboarding and surfing when I am able; these activities bring me a nourishing resilience and inspire awe and wonder. My family, including my husband and two small children, love to appreciate the beauty of where we live.
“The thick green branches cast cool shadows that had the fragrance of life. “
Haruki Murakami
“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds . . . where something strange and more beautiful and more full of wonder than your deepest dreams awaits for you — beyond that next turning of the canyon walls.”
Edward Abbey
