I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and have a masters in counselling psychology.

Have you noticed that emotional suppression results alternatively in the amplification of those very emotions? That avoidance behaviours that attempt to quell those emotions can build and build in unwanted ways until they are adequately and holistically addressed?

When my sibling experienced a catastrophic MVA in 1996, it changed the course of my family’s life. I experienced the ripple effects of trauma. Working through this event in therapy via EMDR much later, I understood the necessity of getting the right treatment at the right time. Resource acquisition regarding mental health and wellness post a traumatic or disturbing event/experience is the reason I do what I do; It’s the best job in the world.

I’m passionate about psychology, philosophy and counselling and it is truly an honour to sit and talk, feel and explore with clients. Yoga, Mindfulness, and time in Nature ground my practice. I love gardening, hiking, cycling, snowboarding and surfing when I am able; these activities bring me a nourishing resilience and inspire awe and wonder. My family, including my husband and two small children, love to appreciate the beauty of where we live.
